Welcome to Scripture Deck
Scripture Deck is new. Its public site opened this week, and this first post, written on October 17, 2026, records its beginning. It is a good moment to say plainly what Scripture Deck is for, what it stands on, and why its study tools are free.

What Scripture Deck is for
Scripture Deck is a place to read the Bible and study it closely. Read a chapter in one of eleven English translations, keep notes tied to its verses, connect passages on a mind map, gather them into collections, practice memory verses with spaced review, and follow a reading plan at your own pace. Each piece of your study links back to the passage that started it, so you can always return to the text.
The mission is simple: help Christians read God’s Word, understand it, and remember it.
Built on the Christian faith
Scripture Deck is built on the Christian faith, and it starts from what the Bible says about itself:
2 Timothy 3:16–17 — World English Bible (WEB)
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Study is not the goal on its own. The Gospel of John says why it was written: “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). Every tool in Scripture Deck is meant to send you back to the text, and through it to Jesus Christ.
It is for Protestant and Catholic readers alike. Every English edition has the 66 books of the Protestant canon, and two Catholic editions, the World English Bible (Catholic) and the Douay-Rheims 1899, have all 73 books of the Catholic canon.
Why the study tools are free
Good tools for studying the Bible should not depend on what you can pay. When Jesus sent out the twelve, he told them, “Freely you received, so freely give” (Matthew 10:8). Scripture Deck is built in that spirit:
- Every study tool is free to use, with no ads, no subscription and no card.
- If optional paid features are added later, the tools you use today will stay free.
- The Bible text comes from free translations: eleven in English, plus Tagalog and Bisaya (Cebuano) Bibles for Filipino readers.
- The Bible pages and the study guides on this site are free to read without an account. An account is needed only to save your own study.
Where Scripture Deck is going
The vision is a place where any Christian, anywhere, can study the Bible with good tools, whatever they can afford: easy to use on a phone, faithful to the text, and open about its sources. Scripture Deck will keep growing, with more guides and more ways to study, but that purpose will stay the same.
This blog is where news about Scripture Deck will appear: what is new, what has changed, and why it works the way it does. Step-by-step study guides live in Learn.
